The Big WHY?

Today I wanted to talk to you about why I design knitwear (knitted and crochet) - something a bit more emotional than my last three instalments but I think that when you read why, you will find yourself identifying with me!

The big WHY!?

Have you ever found yourself, at the end of the day, exhausted and feeling like you didn’t really accomplish much even though it feels like you worked so hard? I used to feel that way before, and none of my previous jobs has ever given me the satisfaction of CREATING something from scratch!

There is something incredibly satisfying in having a thought, and then making it a reality - it truly is like magic!

Besides, sometimes it feels like the world has gone mad and so much feels out of control. However, within the chaos, stitches and rows I DO CONTROL! Want a deeper neckline? No worries! Want batwing sleeves? Sure! Want to add some colorwork puppies? Why not!

Literally, anything is possible!

But probably the biggest reason why I design is that I want things that I don’t have and I am too cheap to buy them. Seriously! If I had a penny every time that inspiration has come from seeing an outfit on TV and wanting it, I would be rich! The easiest way to fill a gap in my wardrobe in a truly engaging way is to design it and make it.

That’s why wearing clothes designed and made by myself brings me so much joy! And don’t even get me started on how I feel seeing OTHERS making and wearing garments that I designed!! Talk about fulfilment!

Anyway, that’s why I design and why I also LOVE teaching others what I have learned. It has been a HUGE learning curve and I have done tons of research (and frogging!!) to learn valuable lessons that I love to pass on to others.

If you would like to be informed of future courses or events, make sure to sign up to my newsletter!

Now, who you YOU knit or crochet? Please, tell me in the comments!

Love,

Sandra
